Measure P

In November 2024, local voters went to the polls and approved SUESD’s $73 million General Obligation Facilities Bond, Measure P. Our district is humbled and grateful for the support from our community. We are committed to ongoing communication regarding Measure P facility projects. Generally speaking, these projects can be split into two broad categories: fieldwork and modernization. Fieldwork will take place first and involves several projects, most notably renovating our schools’ fields into state-of-the-art, safe places for our students to run and play. Modernization will be the emphasis of the second wave of projects designed to enhance our older classrooms. Our middle school athletic field at New Brighton Middle School will be one of the first projects to start. The NBMS field project is supported by matching funds from our 2016 bond, Measure C. On that note, we are mindful of ensuring that our district gets its fair share of the state’s $10 billion bond funded by the state’s yes vote on Proposition 2 in 2024. Completing local bond projects allows our district to qualify for state “matching funds.” We are working hard to make every possible dollar count for our school community best to serve the current generation of students and generations still to come. Below, please find documents made available to the public to help stay abreast of how we are putting bond dollars to work for you.
