The Soquel Union Elementary School District is pleased to announce that Nicole Marsh has been selected as the new principal, in 2023-24, of Main Street Elementary School, pending board approval. Ms. Marsh has extensive experience in elementary and secondary education. For the last 11 years, Ms. Marsh has been a site Academic Coordinator and most recently, in the role of Coordinator of Early Literacy at Pajaro Valley Unified School District.
Prior to becoming a site Academic Coordinator, Ms. Marsh taught grades four to eight and was a reading intervention teacher for one through grade three. In addition, Ms. Marsh was the founding director of a non-profit that served high school and middle school students after school. As Coordinator of Early Literacy, Ms. Marsh works with 18 elementary site leaders and their staff. Also, Ms. Marsh brings in-depth experience as she is currently responsible for writing and managing the Early Learning Support Block Grant for three elementary sites.
Ms. Marsh believes in the whole child and centers her decisions on helping create a healthy and positive school environment. Ms. Marsh’s expertise and Master’s in Education specific to the study of educational systems have allowed her to support staff and classroom teachers in practices that close student learning gaps and has successfully led district-wide training.
